Our search for the sharpest minds in the country started with our first debate program – conducted at School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru. The debate program kicked off with video recordings submitted by 4th and 5th year law students on:“Organ donation after death – should it be mandatory as against elective?”. The entries were subject to a rigorous shortlisting process that focused on – clarity of thought, ability to communicate in simple and concise manner, and the ability to deploy common sense to create an engaging narrative. From the initial entries we shortlisted 8 of the best presenters, to debate one-on-one in knockout rounds.

Sumukh Ram and Kavya Veerla progressed to the finals. This debate was a first in the series of debates that we will host across colleges as we seek to identify the next generation of lawyers with clarity of thought, perspicacity, out of the box thinking, and ability to stitch thoughts. We strongly believe in the potential of youth – their enthusiastic minds and fresh perspectives, the willingness to step out of their comfort zones and engage in constructive and respectful discourse.
